The highlight and purpose of a westward trip last week came to being with UP 844 Steam and UP 1989 Heritage Unit moving the Cheyenne Frontier Days train from Cheyenne to Denver.
Huge credit and appreciation to the Union Pacific and the Steam Crew for makeing such an event possible, and the 844 and the balance of the equipment was looking it's finest--it sure was a pleasure to hear and see the steam experience once again.
1.     Appearing from under the I-25 bridge approaching Terry Ranch Rd.
2.     with UP 1989 trailing providing both power and dynamics as needed
3.     a beautiful, class looking train
4.     through the hills and off towards Carr CO
5.     The spotless shine shows and flags flutter at track speed approaching County Rd 34 at Platteville CO
