It is along the Stockton Subdivision, about 25 miles south of Stockton, along the bank of the San Joaquin River.

Gary, Riverbank is on the Stanislaus River!  You need to get over here more often!

Riverbank is on the BNSF (ex-Santa Fe) San Joaquin Valley mainline.  It is the site of a 12-track yard, a passing siding ("Riverbank"), and an interchange with the Sierra Northern Railroad (formerly Sierra RR).  A busy place, seeing 25 to 30 freights a day, plus 14 Amtrak passenger trains.

It's too hot out there for me to want to go there to figure out what River Runs Through It.
