Western Railroad Discussion > Words to live by...Date: 07/25/16 12:24 Words to live by... Author: es44fan Recently, I’ve noticed that there have been some Operation Lifesaver signs placed at unarmed crossings along the UP Greeley Subdivision with the hopes of slowing down vehicle, pedestrian, and trespasser strikes that occur way too frequently. Yesterday, while waiting for UP 844 to leave Denver, I found one of these signs just north of Platteville, CO at CR 36 and lucked out at a train passing while I was there. These words on the signs are indeed words to live by.

Sure, except when I have my camera and the ligth is perfect and fading........... Scott Schifer Torrance, CA TinyTrains Website Date: 07/25/16 21:54 Re: Words to live by... Author: Odyssey Thank you for the post ...
I also noticed the sign during my "meanderings" on US 85 looking for ops to image the 844 and CFD Train last weekend. Your image is a sobering portrayal of the reality ... thanks for taking the time to document it! The Greeley sub has more than one unprotected crossing ... and many do get complacent ...
