Western Railroad Discussion > Portland and Western?

Hi all,

Looking for a little bit of info on the schedule of both the OE Express and the Toledo Hauler. Will be in the area early in the week (Monday/Tuesday) in mid-September and I am looking into shooting P&W. Any info will help. Thanks!

TH goes west after 1800 at Albany on Monday though Saturday's (roustabout, can u confirm current times?).  Comes east Tuesday's through Sunday's figure through Corvallis early afternoon, or so.  Power currently is the 3001, 101, an unknown 2300, 102, & 3002, west to east.

OEX runs Monday through Friday called in Tigard at 1000.  Usually out around 11 getting to Albany  sometime around 1400.  Exchanges cars and heads back.  Often has to wait at Wilsonville for last WES trains arrival there at 2000 hours.  A great shot spot is in Wilsonville south of the Safeway store for n the straight track coming off the big bridge.  Be there 0900ish and you have the opportunity to catch the 664, then the Rock Train, then the OEX heading south (rr west).  Then follow the OEX toward Salem and Albany.  Front Street in Salem is a gem to catch.  Good chance they may have matching SD-45 bodied units!

By Monday through Saturday I assume you mean Monday, Wednesday, Friday & Saturday? And Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday for Tues through Sun?

Thanks for the info BTW.

The TH is a six round trip a week run.  The OEX is five round trips a week.

The Toledo Hauler is later this week, after 8 pm due to the road construction on Hwy 20.  West every day, Mon - Saturday evenings.  East Tuesday - Sunday.  The eastbound is early, 0700 or so from about the Eddyville area.  HIghway 20 is closed near Pioneer Mtn from 7:30 pm to 5:30 am Sunday through Thursday.
