CNW UP 1995 at the Apex
Author: RustyRayls

I caught the CNW Heritage unit leaving Lost Wages in the daylight! We don't get many of these in the sunlight any more!

! & 2.  The UP 1995 leads a 3+1 ZLAG1 stack train on the climb up the 1% grade to Apex Summit. Here they are at the Old Hwy 91 (Las Vegas Blvd.) bridge at MP 350.7 with about a mile to go before topping out at the summit.

Excellent catch Bob, happy you caught it, I spent part of the morning hoping to catch it at Calada and Desert but  ran out of time and headed to Needles for a meeting. Once again great work

I second that.  I love the desert scenry and the shot is composed perfect for the calendar or large framed wall photo!

The combination of the great composition with the clean CNW Heritage unit on the point with brightly coloured containers (and no freakin' graffiti!!) makes these two shots keepers . . . well done!

Shooting from the "dark side" is almost required here. There is a pole line and lower terrain on the other side. Just have to "open up the shadows" in Photoshop.

Don't get a big head with all the praise, Bob!  Oh, go ahead!  They are GOOD!  The thunder-bumpers on the horizon really make the shot.  One more week before I head south, I decided to drive via Vegas, so I'll be there for 2 or 3 days around the 7th.  See you then or in October.
