Western Railroad Discussion > Inland Northwest Rail museums new homeDate: 08/27/16 23:04 Inland Northwest Rail museums new home Author: BrianA Today was the Grand Opening of the Inland Northwest Rail Museum just west of Reardan, WA. The move out of Spokane, WA came yesterday and the remainder of the trip to the new museum grounds went just fine today 8-27-16.
1) WRIX 8702 switches out the museums cars before they enter the museum grounds. 2) NP F9A 6703A is part of the museum collection. The new building is in the background. 2) And a view from the upstairs window as museum equipment is backed into the museum. Hope opening day went well. I was in the area in July 2014 for the Railroad Station Historical Society convention, and came across your location while exploring local rail lines; here is what it looked like back then. Ed Date: 08/28/16 09:34 Re: Inland Northwest Rail museums new home Author: callum_out Brian, do you happen to know what was on that site previously? Obviously the track was already there, there's
even a runaround out on the "main". Out Date: 08/28/16 10:21 Re: Inland Northwest Rail museums new home Author: BrianA Actually I do not know, but I will try to find out. Good question.

Nothing. It is a fairly rocky site to the east and there are basically flat spots up top and at the bottom near the highway. We dug the well, ran the power, added the switch and crossing, and did all of the improvements to the site that allowed us to open the museum. Brian Ambrose Renton, WA Date: 08/28/16 13:29 Re: Inland Northwest Rail museums new home Author: callum_out That's interesting considering that the track looks to be forty years old and as I mentioned there's
a runaround adjacent to their site. There's no reason for the runaround and there's already one in town so I'd think it was there to switch some industry but hey........... Out Date: 08/28/16 17:15 Re: Inland Northwest Rail museums new home Author: bobc19024 Looking at Google Maps, the site was under construction when the latest photo was taken.
The location is: 47.663229, -117.937213 Bob Date: 08/28/16 18:38 Re: Inland Northwest Rail museums new home Author: JimBaker Wow!! What a Satellite view !!.
There is a turntable without a ring, however, a few bucks could restore that !! Does that right of way ther ring around that hill? I have a million questions on he project.
