The NS 1073 is southbound out of Bend, Oregon at 8:35 am. It is the trailing dpu on a vawbar.

It is long hood north.

Sounds like that wascally PC unit will hit Gateway MP193 in darkness.

NS 1073 is being playing like a yo-yo on the West Coast. I hope it goes east of Barstow this time.

I've kinda been keeping track of it once it departed Colorado and arrived to CA on a PVOSTO, from memory here's the trains it's been on since getting here...
PVOSTO
MODBAR (could have easily been placed lead unit en route due to lead loco issues... it ended up 2nd out)
BARSTO
STOPVO (there was local internal lobbying to place it on the point, TM has deaf ears...)
From Provo it took a couple train symbols for it to return to BAR...
BARVAW
VAWBAR (current train it's assigned to now)

So basically it's rolled through N. CA 5 times within the last 3 or so weeks and is en route again, usually last loco in the consist...

Can someone please track down this unit I really want to see it in Sacramento.

Went by the yards after work and either it hasn't reached Klamath Falls, or more likely, already in California.

There's nearly always a S/B BNSF DPU Manifest (heavy with Lumber) that rolls through Downtown Sac along the old WP in the early morning hours (6:30am-8:30am). The train in question may arrive in the same time slot.

The NS 1073 is on The VAWBAR.This train is usually through Keddie at 1:00 AM.So that is probably what you see in downtown Sac in the Morning

Yes, my sleep is often disturbed (not really, because I like it!) by a southbound in the wee hours of each night, and I am about 30 minutes north of Keddie. Believe it or not, these trains actually run on sort of a schedule (unless you were counting on it to go railfanning that day :-)).
