Western Railroad Discussion > PRLX 1145Date: 09/24/16 23:05 PRLX 1145 Author: EricSP I saw this locomotive sitting in the UP yard in Fresno, CA on Friday. Obiviously it is a former Southern Pacific or Cotton Belt SW1500 and probably formerly UPY 1145. Does anyone know where it is going?

They have started working on hopper cars doing contract maintanence for the UP and need something to move them around with. Up unitl now they have had to borrow UP locomotives to move the cars around. Prior to this Harbor Rail Services had been working on UP locomotives at the same location, but of course they can move on their own.

I wonder how many times it switched the Fresno Yard as a Southern Pacific locomotive. It pushed the props around the loop track.
