Western Railroad Discussion > Four Heritage Units, Three Trains, One DayDate: 09/25/16 17:22 Four Heritage Units, Three Trains, One Day Author: CP_M260 ...and a partridge in a pear tree.
Yesterday, Sat. 09/24/16, was a good day to be in Kansas City, if you wanted to get photos of NS heritage/special scheme units. Provided with solid information that there were three separate trains (2 NS - 1 BNSF) that had heritage/special units, I decided to try and catch all three. Below are the results of the day's travels - enjoy! 1. NS 285 (North Kansas City, MO - Jacksonville, FL) rolls East through Orrick, MO behind NS 9353 and NS 6920, the Veteran's SD60E 2. Following 11 minutes behind, NS 120 (North Kansas City, MO - Detroit, MI) passes through Orrick with NS 1072, the ITC SD70ACe on point 3. Relocating to the East, NS 120 rolls towards the US HWY 65 overpass at Carrollton, MO Date: 09/25/16 17:26 Re: Four Heritage Units, Three Trains, One Day Author: CP_M260 4. Moving back into the KC Metro Area, BNSF train U NSIMNX7 14A rolls North at Riverside, MO behind a pair of freshly rebuilt, specially painted NS AC44C6Ms 4002 & 4004
5. A short chase ensued, and the train is seen here, going into the siding at East Leavenworth, MO Thanks for looking, -Dalton Date: 09/25/16 17:42 Re: Four Heritage Units, Three Trains, One Day Author: SCKP187 Nice work Dalton. These are some nice looking photos and locations. Pretty fortunate to get so many Heritage & Specialty units in one day.
