Tri-Met Westside Express RDC's
Author: nomosantafe

Tri-Met was using the RDC's last week on the WES (Westside Express Service) between Wilsonville and Beaverton.  The RDC's are only used when a DMU is the shop for service or repairs.

I got out and shot them several times.

1 & 2..  NB WES  train crossing Hall Street approaching the Tigard, OR station  9/21/16

3. Crossing over from main 1 - main 2    9/21/16

Nice to see them paying homage to one of BNSF's dispatchers, too bad they didn't name the set Randy instead.

So what's the heritage of these units?  Look to be a one and a three, but they've
both been modified.  Just curious is all.

What is that speaker-like thing on top of the cab? Horn? Electronic bell?

I do beleive taht is an electronic bell.

The trucks were apparently changed out recently as there are now four worn trucks at the far end of their trackage at the shops.  Was down there yesterday and managed to get all four of the DMUs.  Now to catch the RDCs again someday.
