Some KCS Action Yesterday . . .
Author: SCKP187

The KCS adventure started out at Watts OK and headed south to Heavener OK and Rich Mtn AR before returning to Tulsa.
Big changes going on at Page and Rich Mtn---for those who are familiar with the area, KCS has been cutting trees down to ground level and grinding them to mulch. This has opened up several new photo ops right off the edge of the highway.
In many cases it is so clear it reminds me of a prairie right-of-way back in the 60s only with lots of hills and curves with forst background.  No pictures today though, as there were no trains in the immediate area.
The trees have been way out of control the past few years. Several theories--power needs more fresh air breathing on the hard pull up the mountain, or this is being done to enhance radio communication????

1.     KCS 4590 and brand new 4600 depart Watts OK nb with the chicken feed empty
2.     3 gray standard cab units on the dodger head north at Bunch OK where the cemetery is huge and the train crew nearly out-numbers the current living residents.
3.     An empty grain arrives Heavener OK for a crew change. Typical mix of foreign power in many KCS trains, but they are all 4000 class
4.     Clutter at the fuel pad at the north end of Heavener with KCS 4117-4835-4786 on a nb manifest.
