3751 en route to LAUS
Author: spwr52

Good Day,

With 3751 heading back to LA this afternoon in the daylight, and my office close to the tracks, I headed down to  Metrolink Valley Sub, MP 34.10. As  it rolled by and the Engineer said good bye it passed me by.

It would have been nice if they would have pulled it out there at night then in dalight let it run back on the point. I'll bet a boiler load of steam they didn't think of that.

Here we have a great Baldwin engine, reduced to a zoo like atmosphere of pacing back and forth in a cage.  I don't know how much time she has left on her 15 year FRA, but it would be great to see her out strutting her stuff.  It must be hard to maintain enthusiasm in the group when this seems to be her lot.
I hope the future will see some real trips being pulled by 3751.

I've always lived in this territory and have been more interested in rail operations rather than chasing/photo of trains. The last one I followed was the Freedom Train!
This one caught my interest due to the fact  that there used to be SP Steam that rode on these rails. This is Metrolink rail, with UP. This was a Sante Fe First!
Because it ran Tuesday night, visitors were light to moderate along the route to Acton/Vincent Grade. If I'm not mistaken, She ran pretty much at track speed. The power and sound was amazing. The volunteers that have this wonderful piece of history are to be congradulated.
I've got some Tuesday night video, as well as the one I posted that got VOTD! Wow!  My first upload. But you can pretty much only hear it as it goes by because there with no moon, It was dark outside. All the stations are not brightly lite on this line. I can put it up if you want.
You guys and gals that go out of your way to share your photograhical wonders are greatly appreciated by this member!

I hope this opens a window to the Metrolink top brass to maybe a couple excursions on their lines. A trip to San Berdoo and back. Or return via anther route. Down to Oceanside for the day. Out to Moorpark and back in resverse. Think about it. Just twice a year to start. Hype it up.

Metrolink has enough insurance issues with it's own service ...
