Western Railroad Discussion > UP PTC testing in the Roseville area?Date: 10/19/16 13:27 UP PTC testing in the Roseville area? Author: KM-ML4000 Strange train movement past my office this morning. On the UP Sacramento Sub (former WP 2nd Sub) UP ran a train South with a GEVO, 8 empty gondolas, and another GEVO on the opposite end of the train. A few hours later, the same train came back Northbound through downtown Sacramento. Does anyone know if this might be a PTC test train?

Author: Barstool UP has been running this combination all over the bay area and between Lathrope and roseville and the hill....looking for bugs and picking up information....This PTC is a beast and its costing the railroads a fortune, but down the road it just may work..or has to work...
