Puffy Clouds and CDTX 2005
Author: UP9000

I have seen thousands of CDTX trains roll by over the years, giving hardly a thought to them. Yet with word of the new Charger locomotives, and perhaps a paint job face lift for the CDTX fleet, I guess it's time to start taking a few photos of them before they change.

Here is a photo I did on Tuesday and CP RVO20 on the Union Pacific's Cal-P line near Pinole. The clouds and sky really made the scene.

Thanks for looking!

Ohhhhh... VERY nice photo, Jamie!  That is really a
pretty picture.   Love the white puffy clouds.

Yes -- folks really should go out and document these
locomotives and this paint scheme before it is gone.
(I rather like it, and the looks of those F59s.)

As someone said some years ago -- the weay to get
photos of rare and unusual RR equipment is to take
pictures now -- and wait 30 years!  SO true.  What we
now take for granted as commonplace and ordinary
and even boring will be rare and precious in the future.

Again -- a great photo, Jamie!

A beuatiful setting you chose for this photo. I once asked a famous photographer I met  how he got such fantastic photos over the years.
He said he chose a location that he really liked and waited for a train to show up. (Hank Griffith)
His advice was good and I started performing the same tasks as he described them, even with my video camera.
Again congrats on a great photo.

Excellent.  You might consider trying to sell this photo to Amtrak.
