KCK old M-K-T yard gravel dump
Author: gttruex

In Kansas City (Ks.), in the old KATY yard next to Southwest Blvd, UP has brought in 20-30, 30-40 car trainloads of gravel that have been emptied in the area in different piles according to gravel size. Does anybody have any idea what this is for? Maybe it has something to do with the Turkey Creek project that’s going on but it still seems like an awful lot of gravel.

This is UP's newest aggregate transloading location in the KC area.  They've been running rock trains into there for a few months now.  It's nice to see the Katy Yard doing something besides virtually nothing.
