Western Railroad Discussion > Extra Saturday Kaiser Through Azusa CA

Got word that there was an Extra Kaiser running on Saturday and as I was not that far from Azusa I thought I'd head on up. Have to admit this was my first time back since Gold Line service started. I was disappointed how fenced in everything was. 

The train turned out to be light engines making a needed switch move at Miller in Irwindale. First two images are of the train coming towards me from the Azusa station. Last image is the train going away, about to head over Route 66.

Good thing you were there to get these.  No Gold Line trains in the area at the time?

There were lots, but I set up to get a clean shot of the Extra Kaiser, so all the Gold Line trains were obstructed by fences.

Nice catch, what a beautiful clear day in the basin.

They come by every 12 minutes.

Great photos.  It looks like you can still get a clear shot if you press against the fence there between Azusa and San Gabriel Avenues.  I thought that shot had been lost with the reconfiguration.
