Headed out to meet a friend on Saturday along the joint line, little bit late start.  Missed the northbound BNSF doublestack at Castle Rock by minutes around 12 Noon, with my  1st train of the day at Palmer Lake at 1239 with BNSF 6300 leading a southbound coal load, and DPU BNSF 6206 bring up the rear.
Shortly later, BNSF 6715 with KCS Mexico 4565 and a third BNSF leading a merchandise north at Palmer Lake at 140pm.

After a short break where we tried (but failed - way too many people to quickly grab a burger) to have a burger at the very popular O Mally's in Palmer Lake, BNSF 8477 and Citirail 1423 lead a southbound coal through Palmer Lake at 205pm.

At 250pm, another BNSF coal load moves south, led by BNSF 8473 with rear DPU BNSF 9730.

After the southbound BNSF coal train, we headed north looking for additional southbounds, but came up empty through Castle Rock, though we did see a northbound movement on ATCS, so we set up for the shot at Castle Rock.  BNSF 9269 lead the coal empty, showing up at 430pm.

We knew another southbound was coming due to earlier ATCS indications, so we moved to the southbound tracks at Castle Rock, but the train was a bit too long in coming with shawdows on the tracks by the time it showed, though the DPU's were in a patch of light resulting in one last show, seen here with BNSF 9338 on the rear.

All in all, traffic a bit lighter than what has been normal with only 6 trains seen from roughly Noon at Castle Rock through 530pm in Castle Rock, 1 NB Stack train, 4 SB Coal loads, 1 NB merchandise, and 1 NB coal empty, all BNSF trains.
