Western Railroad Discussion > A Day in Old Sacramento

This could be Nostalgia, Passenger, or Western. So I apologize, but Western is my usual. Once a year, my grandfather and I take the Capitol Corridor from San Joe to Sacramento and back. We have lunch in Old Town, roam the museum, and just enjoy some cool railroad history. Here are a few from a gloomy Fall day in Sacramento.

1. AMTK 99 waiting to depart Sacramento - San Jose bound train.
2. UP 2602 poses with America on the Golden State Railroad Museum property. It was parked with what I believe the UP employee special

A round-trip train ride to a train museum?  A great way to spend the day...

Interesting...I spent a couple hours wandering through there last week, first time I'd been there in about ten years, and shot the interesting technological faceoff, but from the other direction...

Nice shot! I'm guessing that was for the 150th celebration for UP?

The "Sonoma" and high-speed rail in the same photo - talk about juxtaposition!
