Just after the UP takeover of SP a very few SP locos were equipped with ex-CNW cab signals allowing them to lead anywhere on the expanded UP system. This was halted soon after and just a handfull were ATC equipped. SP 8142 was one of the few. I was very suprised to hear over the scanner the dispatcher call SP 8142 WEST as I though there would be a CNW or UP leader. This a shot of the hopper train just west of Mechanicville Ia with a solid SP consist. My one and only shot of an SP leading on the Chi-Omaha line.

I also think at one time there was a Blue CEFX GE unit on lease that had ATC installed. Pretty rare to catch anything non CNW or UP lead on the double main.
