JM Date: 12/07/16 09:41 Re: When Is the Next Train? Author: SN711 Yes, That is the NVRR North Switch Krug outside St. Helena (CA). It would have been the east switch on the SP going toward Calistoga. The track ends somewhere in the trees not too far in the distance.
Yes, the next train is at about 1230 hours daily, although it does not yet run over this segment of track. The serviceable track ends about 150 feet behind where the photo was taken. The plan is to fix the rail so that the locomotive can use the siding and north switch to run around the current one car train. It appears that they have cut a large enough hole in the trees to at least get there track tamper in there. It is parked in the siding where they are doing the current track work.
