Some antiques in OKC
Author: billywa

Rolled by BNSF Nowers Yard in Oklahoma City yesterday and spotted some new additions to the exisiting line of LUGO power. The new arrivals included roughly 8-10 BNSF SD75s, but also the two MP-15s pictured below (in bad phone grab pics taken in bad light). Believe both are of Frisco heritage but the 3700 is notable for someone's (honorable but less than professional) attempt to honor the GN. Don't know the fate of these engines, but given their age and utility, wouldn't be surpirsed to see them ultimately find a new home…

They came into Tulsa for servicing or in transit to Springfield but they saw, little time in Tulsa worked mostly out of Enid.  I did have one on a rail train from Tulsa to Springfield.  It was trailing I believe the 3106

Do you have the numbers or photos of the SD75s?

Am gonna try to get back this weekend or next week in more favorable light for some better photos. I know one of the 75s was BNSF 287 and I want to say another was 275 but, as I was more intent on grabbing the MP15 pics, those were the only numbers of the SD75s that I noted...

The Frisco had I think 5 of these.  I worked on several of them when I worked out of Tulsa back in the days.

The ex- GN SW1500s had Flexicoil trucks, these are ex- SLSF MP15s w/ Blomberg trucks.

After I wrote my post, I noticed they weren't Flexcoils.  Duh!!!  Thanks for the
corrections.
