Light Day In The Snow
Author: Ritzville

It was a Cold cloudy day in Ritzville, WA on the BNSF Lakeside Sub with a high-low of 20/12. It's been a very quiet day for traffic with only 5 trains since 836am. I managed to get four of them, lol. Also was able to get the car out on the road after being snowed in for two days, but the roads are still bad in town.

1. WB 1051am coal train with BNSF 6019-8432-6424 on the point with DPU.
2. DPU BNSF 8769 on same train.
3. WB 105pm grain train with BNSF 4682-4776-4129 on the pull with DPU.

4. DPU BNSF 5758 on same grain train.
5. WB 132pm manifest train with BNSF 4568-7577 and CREX 1325 on the pull, no DPU.
6. Older Santa Fe hopper rolling in same train.

7. DPU's BNSF 5885-6138 on EB 150pm grain train. Taken from the car.

That's it for this very quiet traffic day. I'm sure the flood gates will open up after sundown. Hope everyone has a great evening and tomorrow. Thank you so much for looking! Stay warm!

Larry

Unfortuanely for Larry, a train led by a pair of warbonnet locomotives was held up for a couple hours at Babb, WA. I managed a photo of it during a brief period where the sun dropped between layers of clouds.

Nice shot Ted! I was hoping that train would make it by the backyard in daylight, but that didn't happen. Lots of good looking consists roll thru in darkness, unfortunately.

Nice shots Larry.  The #7 is a nice angle/location.  Looks like more snow---some of the shovel markings in yesterday's photos are filled in with new snow today.

I like your last shot also. Nice groundlevel view. I bet the warmest shot of the day.

Larry, You are just  going to have to mount some lights outside and sit up all night to get those good things that pass by in the darkness of the day.. Have fun, stay warm.
