Heads up Dunsmuir and points north...  Amtrak #14 departed Redding at 10:10 AM today.

Looks like it lost 6 hours between Chico and Redding. Does anyone know what happened?

#11 had a collision with an abandoned car on the tracks at Oasis Road. Flat spots on the lead P42, a UP unit is now leading.

It has been reported, although not 100% confirmed, that the replacement locomotive on Amtrak 14 is indeed UP 3012, one of the brand new EMD SD70ACe-T4s.

The Dunsmuir Cam shows the Tier 4 unit on Amtrak at 01/18/2017 2:51pm PST. It doesn't show the lead unit, or where the lead Amtrak unit went though. Not sure if the UPRR Tier 4 locomotive is on the point or running second, but it definitly was on #14 out of Dunsmuir today.

There is a Tier 4 thread on the Western Board but it went off topic.
