I don't have any further info. I assume this was taken within the last few days when all the other flooding was hitting this region. You must be a registered subscriber to watch videos. Join Today! And drones are really becoming part of our hobby. Lee Hower - Sacramento Date: 02/17/17 15:04 Re: Washout At Doyle, CA on the former Western Pacific Author: icancmp193 I'm guessing that Long Valley Creek went on the rampage. I normally don't think of Doyle and "lots of water" in the same thought.
Tom Y Date: 02/17/17 15:38 Re: Washout At Doyle, CA on the former Western Pacific Author: mleland Based on the pic and video above. The bridge is the one in the attached pic. This would be Long Valley Creek.
It looks like the drone view is generally southwest from the east side of the railroad. It would seem that the creek has at least temporarily straightend out that 90deg turn in the creek just before the bridge. Mike Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 02/17/17 15:39 by mleland. The ex-WP and now-out-of-service Reno Branch runs alongside this creek between Reno Junction and the northernmost freight customer near White Lake. The shipper appears to unload LPG cars as GOOGLE aerial photos show a couple of tank cars on spot. Even though this segment of the line is out-of-service and will probably never be re-activated, I'll bet it's safe to say that the rampaging creek did some damage to help seal its fate.
