Washout at Doyle, CA on the ex-WP.

I don't have any further info.  I assume this was taken within the last few days when all the other flooding was hitting this region.

Wow.  The line sure got battered, that's for sure.

And drones are really becoming part of our hobby.

I'm guessing that Long Valley Creek went on the rampage. I normally don't think of Doyle and "lots of water" in the same thought.

Based on the pic and video above. The bridge is the one in the attached pic. This would be Long Valley Creek.

It looks like the drone view is generally southwest from the east side of the railroad. It would seem that the creek has at least temporarily straightend out that 90deg turn in the creek just before the bridge.

In the 1st pic, it appears there is construction in-process on the bridge here where the guardrail shows in the suspended track.  What was/is this wood structuring?

Just wing walls to keep the ballast from falling away.

Yes.  The ex-WP and now-out-of-service Reno Branch runs alongside this creek between Reno Junction and the northernmost freight customer near White Lake.  The shipper appears to unload LPG cars as GOOGLE aerial photos show a couple of tank cars on spot.

Even though this segment of the line is out-of-service and will probably never be re-activated, I'll bet it's safe to say that the rampaging creek did some damage to help seal its fate.
