Rail Link (RLIX) 1005, an EMD SW1001, was in service switching the Tesoro refinery in Salt Lake City from 2008 through 2016. In January 2017 it was replaced by two GATX locomotives, GMTX 154 and GMTX 334.

RLIX 1005 was seen yesterday just behind the locomotives of a UP train sitting in UP's North Yard in Salt Lake City. If you see this unit, please post its location.

Where is it headed?

Some time in January 2017, Rail Link (RLIX) 1005 was sold to S&S Sales & Leasing (SSRX) and is now SSRX 1005 sitting in UP's former D&RGW Roper yard in Salt Lake City.

Also in January, the unit received alignment couplers and draft gear to make it easier to move in the nation's rail network, and easier to lease to potential customers.
