Western Railroad Discussion > Talking Floods; ex-CNW main underwater. 2008Date: 02/23/17 12:59 Talking Floods; ex-CNW main underwater. 2008 Author: slacks The CNW Chi-Omaha main in Iowa is usually the last east west line to flood over, however 1993 and 2008 stand out as bad summers for floods. This is shots from the Hgw 13 overpass near Bertram Ia. I,m looking west, the middle shot shows the Bertram interlocking submerged almost to the bottom signal mast. Even in the 1993 flood this area wasn,t this bad. The water had receded somewhat by this time, and even Hgw 30 was under water.
