Western Railroad Discussion > 3 Train Saturday on the IAIS

Usually the West End of the IAIS Only sees regular trains CBBI/BICB but yesterday there were 4 trains thru Des Moines. I nabbed 3 of the 4.


1. NSPEDM at 7th St in near downtown Des Moines. The train will to E 4th St, where NS Job 1 will pull the empties into their E 18th St yard, 

2. Conductor getting on the NS 6902 with his grip. The crew was from South Amana. They will tie onto the loads and air test before being relieved. 

3. Engineer Dallas gives a window wash to NS 6902.

4. We are at Earlham now, as BICB-16 will meet empty windmill blade train CBNT-18 

5 and 6. CBNT-18 had BNSF 8115, 8 tanks, the rest all empty flats and BNSF 6549 for the DPU. Here we are at De Soto, IA along US 169.

7. The train reaches Boonville and Crosses the Racoon River. Engineer John Knutson is in charge of todays train. 

8. 6549 on the DPU.
