FXE-TFM-KCS & KCSdeM All in One Day . . .
Author: SCKP187

Yesterday, with the entire UP Wagoner Sub on a MofW blitz getting ballast, tamping and regulating, and tie replacement until 18:30, there was only one train out running on the system in daylight hours and it had a great colorful consist.

1 & 2     MKCMU in Muskogee OK makeing a pick up and then will cut a crossing and tie up for the day. It was called this morning 900a as the MUFW to go south. FXE 4068-UP 9476-FXE 4670-KCSdeM 4103----note the FXE 4068 is equipped with screens on the windshield and side windows to deter rock throwers.

3.           With that being it on the UP, we went over to the KCS as we heard 5 trains were on the system---an hour's wait at Marble City OK and then the show began with a 9 unit lite power move from Gillham AR returning helpers back to Pittsburg KS that had been taken off of southbound trains after they got over Rich Mountain

4           KCS showing a great mix of power models and style on the MSHKC at Bunch OK with KCS 4702-KCSdeM 4675-TFM 1656-KCS 661 that will meet its counterpart in 7 miles at Cave Springs OK

5           Another look going away. I believe there is only 4 (?) of these TFM units left in service.  Kinda nice to see some gray units mixed in, even though the Belles are definitely one of the best looking paint schemes out there today

6            Still at Bunch OK the arrival of southbound MKCSH with KCS 4773-4167-4032-2954-2916-2809, plus there was a DPU as well.  These last 2 trains were a bit unusual for the KCS to have extra units---normally the practice has been to keep them strapped close to a minimum.

With not many trains running due to maintenance, you hit the jackpot of color and variety. Great catches Brian!

Colourful! Love it! On the light engine move, was the last unit a BNSF SD70MAC in the "Grenstein Green" and cream scheme? As I zoomed in the resolution greatly deteriorated and I wasn't sure.

Yes a Grinstein unit---there is a CP in there as well.  The file name on the photo (right click) has every unit number listed.
