Western Railroad Discussion > Phoenix operationsDate: 03/23/17 23:11 Phoenix operations Author: rdlehmer Hi all,
Road trip planned from Northern California to Phoenix in May. Can't just run down to the Sunset Route (as tempting as it looks) as I need to stay in metro Phoenix. What are daylight operations like, especially for the BNSF since I'll be coming from that direction. Thanks in advance! Ron Date: 03/24/17 09:49 Re: Phoenix operations Author: callum_out Ron, depends on where you want to stay. If you're open on location I'd try the Hampton out in Surprise. I say that because
Arizona doesn't observe Daylight Saving time and the interchange train out to the A&C at Castle Hot Springs runs really early! The other interesting operation out there is the Ennis local which switches the branch giving some interesting scenery for an otherwise built-up city.
