BNSF unit train with nothing but two-bay hoppers
Author: JoCoLB

This video shows an eastbound BNSF Railway unit train at Gardner, Kan., on the Emporia Sub. early Thursday afternoon, March 23, 2017. I'm guessing it was an empty frac sand train. Spicing up the footage was a former Burlington Northern engine (No, 9636) mated to a BNSF pumpkin leader (No. 8196)

I agree definitely an empty frac sand train as a few of the cars are HWCX and those belong to Halliburton.

Pretty sure the unit hoppers went through Wichita about 12:30pm Tuesday.

If the train was NB, it must have been held at Newton or Emporia for a couple of days.
