Saturday on Stevens Pass
Author: sd40nut

Here is a coupel of shots taken on Stevens Pass - noticed all sidings seem to have a train in them and usually they were eastbounds.  Made for some great viewing though. This first set was seen at Gold Bar.

Then another catch of the same eastbound at Barring.

Finally caught a westbound at the Foss River Bridge toting some 737 fuselages.  Final shot shows the eastbound seen earlier at Gold Bar and Barring making its way across the Foss River Bridge. Before the westbound came across the bridge though, the detector at MP 1730.7 indicated that a train was "Going Too Slow"?   I assume that this was the Eastbound moving about but not sure.

Lack of cabin windows down the length of the body, and masked off ports for various external radar and sensor mounts, to name a few features. Definitely gonna be a P-8 Poseidon, neat.

What kind of frog is that behind the 9649?   Don't believe I've ever seen one like that.

Think they're calling it a "lift frog"?  BNSF is putting them on many of their mainline switches into lightly used spur tracks like bad order set out tracks or maintenance of way spurs.  The wheel flanges, when going into/out of these spur tracks, actually go up and over the straight rail of the mainline, there are no flange ways.  There's been some discussion about these in the past here on TO.

Thanks for the input.  Never really looked that close on the 737's.  Line numbers for both are 6384 and 6385 though.  Thanks again.
