The Toledo Power and, in particular, the slugs are an on going leaf collection experiment.  And spiders as well.

Guy from Colorado has a nifty Canon camera.  Hope to see some of his work on here later this week.

Great shots! I hope they never repaint the remaining units with SP or ATSF paint.  I love seeing logos from three different railroads - I am a little younger than the 1501, but not by much.  I think it's a tie as to whether it or I look better after 60+ years!  Looks like you got some shots from a bridge, perhaps?  Always something interesting around Albany.

Was it the SP or P&W who removed the dynamic brakes on the 1501 and when did that occur?

Subperb series, P&W could be the only RR in the planet with an SD-9 and SD-7!

SP when it was rebuilt and downgraded for yard service.

About 6:30 in the morning on the 4th of July 13 years ago I was running Amtrak cabbage 90340 on #500 in the same location as the power on Nomo's picture of #14 here.  The throttle was in Run 8 leaving the Davidson Street crossing at the north end of the 30 MPH track headed for 70 MPH when I fortuitously received a call from roustabout who was running the switcher at the south end of the P&W (ex-Oregon Electric) Albany Yard.

Lou's quick thinking saved me from adding another suicide to those I'd already experienced during my career.  There's a story and picture of it about half way down in the thread at http://www.trainorders.com/discussion/read.php?4,3122406,3123451#msg-3123451 which starts out telling of a sad day for now-retired Landrocket (Amtkrd4man).
