BNSF eastbound load Denver
Author: shaggy

Does anyone know what LOADED coal train goes east from Denver on the BNSF? I saw one yesterday along I-76 near Hudson. It had a three-unit mid-train DP and a single rear DP unit.

Just curious...

There are several BNSF trains loading coal on the Utah Railway and heading east over the Moffat Route into Denver. They have been running in a 2+3+1 configuration. They're en route to points in illinois and Missouri.

One has been the C-GJCKCA train to Asbury, MO, on the KCS. Cars had been EDEX IIRC.

Just did some checking. There was a C-GJCGAR0-01 train at Creston, IA early this evening. Seems a bit far for your train to have gotten. 102 cars could easily have used four Macs, although I am not sure if you said SD-70MACs. There is not currently a C-GJCKMA out there.

C=GJCGAR0-01 is the first trip for a coal train this year to Gateway, IA from Utah. Possibly a test burn.
