Nice to see a little indivuality in a world ruled by a few big carriers. Thanks for sharing. I'll be posing my "J" shot from the early 70's including the Big Baldwin Trasfer units when a friend of mine gets around to scaning them. I've got cabooses too.

My old stomping grounds! I always enjoyed seeing an EJ&E train go across the UP (then CNW) at notch 8 with that distinctive 3 chime horn. I especially liked the EJ&E ore trains. In that photo of the EJ&E passing the freight station, it is amazing that the station is still standing.

When does the J run thru West Chicago? I've been out there quite often in the past and never saw a J train.

For a while last summer the "Long West" train was running late (southbound) almost every day so it would usually come by in the morning. The JSW3 train is an extra that ran a few times because traffic was up (I dont know if it is anymore)! And that IGW1 train was just luck... It was a string of bran new coal cars being delivered to the UP. Now, the "Long West" shows up in the afternoon / evening usully going northbound. Listen to the scanner AAR 9191 161.475 for warrants, you are at MP 30.

Maybe you could e-mail those to me for my J site when you get them scanned? I'm always looking for good older stuff like that to save.

And once again MILW261, nice shots. The single unit coal is my fave.

Me too but nothing beats an EJ&E ore train going over the triple track diamonds at high speed. Now that's an experience.

Where was the photo of the 675 taken?
