Locomotive Model on Harsco Rail Grinder?
Author: cozephyr

What model locomotive does Harsco Track Technologies use on their rail grinding train? Here's MW 111 working Winter Park Hill on Union Pacific's Moffat Tunnel Subd, January 22, 2005. It looks like an EMD F40PH with extended platform for water gun operator.

Hopefully, standard locomotives will never get that ugly.

You are right. these are ex conrail gp38's. they were rebuilt in speno's shops before HTT took over. they ARE NOT f40ph's

Some of the sets are powered by rebuilt ex- Conrail GP38s, two
of the sets are powered by F38M-2s, built from new that way by EMD.
