BNSF 7695 just went northbound through Modesto (9:28 PM).

That is an ugly paint job. They should have stayed with the H2 or even the H1 paint job. They also should go back to the SPSF Kodacrome paint or to Santa Fe colores or even BN paint. If I wanted to go back to SF or BN paint jobs I would have stuck with the BN Green and Cream colores on the first H1 SD60M. Then I would get that one Vomit Warbonnet and change it to Kodacrome colores. I would put the BN whitefase on the H1 units. I would put the Yellow Bonnet paint on the H2 units. The H3 units would have BN Green with White stripe noses. Thank you for your post. Detector out

damn G.E. is only 2 weeks old & its already smoking like a steam engine. environmentally friendly loco my a$%.

They were thinking that the new logo looks ugly on the nose, so lets make it barely visible to lesson the impact of ugliness. It's got my vote for the less of two uglies.

The gold is better than the black lettering, but that is still like the difference between a worm in an apple and half a worm...they're both grody,man. Allow me a silly observation: I had a book when I was young; I believe it was called "the little red caboose" or something like that. In the book, all of the locomotives had these big grins on their "faces" with lots of white teeth showing. this BNSF logo on the cab reminds me of one of those big, grinning diesels. Except that it needs to see a dentist or apply some tooth-whitener!

Actually, I think that is steam, not smoke. The rest of the pictures show is was a rainy humid day and coming out of the tunnel, I think the top of the radiator got a dose of "water".

BNSF 7695 departed Richmond, CA, at 9:00 A.M. Sunday, March 20, as the lead unit on a 4-unit set of light power headed for Stockton to pick up its train, the Z-STOWSP.

It passed Martinez, CA, at 9:30 A.M.

It's apparently the same set of power that brought the Z-WSPSTO into Richmond last night -- BNSF 7695 - BNSF C44-9W - NS C44-9W - BNSF C44-9W.

Ok, I missed it yesterday in Hanford. I am not a symbol expert, so is this unit headed south out of stockton?

The Z-STOWSP is headed for Willow Springs, Illinois (UPS facility just west of Chicago), so yes, it will be heading south (railroad east) out of Stockton, toward Fresno, Bakersfield, Tehachapi and Barstow.

BNSF #7695 just went southbound through Modesto (1:08 PM), appeared to be a J B Hunt / Schnieder train.

Just went through Hanford.

Fresno this afternoon. It was a little wet out.

So if the LOGO is so ugly why is everyone flocking around to get a shot ? And why do you care where it is and what train its on ? Make up your mind stop riding the fence.

Because it is something different than the everyday run of the line.
