I read a post or two on the discussions about the Heritage units overshadowing 844, so Ill post a few for those in need of steam!

Here she is today, they tried to hide her under the bridge, but the steam gave away her hiding spot:)

I believe it was to help create up/backdraft to draw the smoke further upwards to avoidcovering/filling the trailing passenger consist with smoke and fumes at higher speeds--that may not be correct, others will likewly have better info for you. Ed
