What happened with the former SP 0-6-0 that GGRM had for sale at Hunter's Point (San Francisco)? Did anyone buy it? Is it still at Hunter's Point? What condition is this engine in?

Unconfirmed reports had it sold and going to Oakdale.

Yes, I believe the Sierra Railroad put in the winning bid for it. A lot of that could be due to the SP 1233 restoration group's fallout with the SRR in Woodland. If you can't use someone else's steam engine, you might as well buy your own.

YES -- the Sierra did buy it and is in process of being trucked to Oakdale for full resoration soon. 1227 will be used to pull the Dinner Train in Oakdale and then do split time in Woodland for the Sac River Train. Woodland's SP 1233 is being readied for truck haul from teh Sierra Railroad there in Woodland back home (about 5 blocks away) to rust away at the restored SP Depo there in Woodland along with a GE 50 tonner and a SP caboose. She will never run again to my understanding. She is due to move by truck sometime in Feb-March.

Too bad. Wonder if the 1233 group tried to talk to CSRM about borrowing the engine for runs there. She would be running and CSRM would have another steamer for the Sac Southern.

You guys are talking about two different locos. The #4 is the one currently in progress, and is still being worked on. The 1227 is the one going to Oakdale.
