Although bookings have been open for some time, I'll believe it when I'm on it. Neither BNSF or Amtrak have yet to grant approval but Trains & Travel's latest tour bulletin says they "expect" approval within the next few weeks. It would be great if it happens without any further route modifications. Already permission has been denied for the run to Phoenix do to an "inadequate" place to off load passengers. Perhaps they should see some of the places we have done so in China and South Africa but of course no one there was ready with their lawyer should someone fall etc.

Yep, I have a pair of tickets for day 4 already. Here's hoping the trip becomes a reality.
