I saw a photo of a steam locomotive bell which appeared to have EX 6000 stamped in the top of the hanger (where the bell actually mounts to), any idea what that would be off of?

Nope doesn't look like there is any chance there is another 0, there is a 5 above the 6000

If the marking is on the hanger, it's probably the pattern number for the casting, not a locomotive ID.

Yea I thought that was a distinct possibility, however all the pieces have casting numbers cast into them, this appears more to be a stamp, so I wasn't sure.
