Cistern fill pipe on Cumbres? If I've got my facts right, the cistern fills from a spring a distance N. of the tracks, and this might possibly be the cistern end of that line, at a "box" to fill the cistern?

Cistern or Spring box is correct but not at Cumbres.

*chuckle* Well, I got the easy part.... Lessee. I'm assuming it's on the C&TS (possibly incorrect), and there are 6 points to pick from (5 since I've eliminated Cumbres apparently...). Antonito isn't original, Lava isn't in service.

And I'm not especially familiar with the plumbing on tanks versus cisterns. Since Sublette is the only other point that has a cistern, I'll guess Sublette, and if that's wrong admit defeat and the likelyhood that this isn't even on the C&TS!

Speaking of cisterns, I do like Oak Run on the Cass Scenic - water source consists of 1 old boiler, 1 old Shay tender, and the creek running across a grate in the top so the steam siphon doesn't pick up twigs.
