Steam & Excursion > SR 630 on the AGS North SaturdayDate: 11/14/12 15:10 SR 630 on the AGS North Saturday Author: EMBell I am still slowing sorting through all the still images we took over the past week with the 630, but we came away with a couple of video clips. Even with no smoke (good firing..thats not a complaint!) and a good sounding whistle that seemed to hit a glass shattering high note every now and then, 630 still looked good doing her thing..
I am not sure of the heritage of the whistle they used on these trips, but I liked it. It had that "High Lonesome Sound" with a N&W hooter ending at times.. #1 Northbound running along the base of Lookout mountain near Cloverdale, GA 11/10/12 #2 A lucky shot as the train plodded along the beltline Saturday evening. I never even noticed the sky or the glint till it was all over E.M. Bell , KD4JSL Salvisa, KY Jreb.org NS group You must be a registered subscriber to watch videos. Join Today! The second video shows why passenger trains were often called "the varnish." |
