Never would have run into you without her starting me out. It's been nothing but fun since.

The person who was stopped was driving a car, not a pick up, and it was likely due to pacing at a slow speed holding up traffic. Nobody goes 15 mph in Arizona (except for us, apparently ;) Date: 02/25/13 19:29 Re: 3751 from Los Angeles to Grand Canyon Author: railstiesballast Great report, and great to sense the riding of the train.
Watching trains go by is nice, but going somewhere is what it is (was) all about, it's about motion, distance, time, geography, and connecting people. You captured all of that very well. Date: 02/26/13 01:27 Re: 3751 from Los Angeles to Grand Canyon Author: rivetingphotos I just finished working on a shot of 3751 in Parker between 3:00-3:40 AM, so it seems like a good time to show it along with the great trip photos (if y'all don't mind).
This is 60 shots as a multi-row panorama, focus stacked so everything is sharp, and a four shot HDR to get the texture on one of the wheels that was reflecting my light to the left of this view. Canon 5DmkII, 70-200 f4L @ 70mm, ISO 320, f11, 20 sec exposure time each except the 10, 5, 2.5 sec HDR shots. 19,740 x 8,320 pixels, 164.2 megapixels, 54.8 x 23.1 inches @ 360ppi. The second photo is a full resolution detail showing the texture that I love to capture with these large format photos. |
