Nice set of pictures. I really need to visit the GCRY one of these summers.

In picture #3, do you recall which dome car that is? I don't recognize the interior.

Full length ex. AT&SF Big Dome. I don't recall seeing a name on the car.

I like the sound guy with the gopro attached to his hat so he can have a sync reference as to what he was doing.

I found myself! In photos 19 and 20, I'm standing next to 3751's cab with my friend Evan in the green shirt, and Daniel Burns of GCRy wearing the overalls. Thanks for sharing the photos, Chris!

Well Chris I know that's not you under the lid!!.............8>)
We made the trip up to the canyon from Williams a couple of years ago, and I might add that you're doing better than me since I'd turned 70 before seeing the big ditch in the desert. Unfortunately we were behind the F-40 and not steam..........8>(

Chris, how was the stack talk up through the Coconino forest on the return trip? I'll never forget that from the 2002 trip with 3751. Beautiful photo coverage, and thank you for sharing them.

Yup! Evan and I are also just about fifty feet to the right of the woman in the pink shirt on the horse. I drove Evan and his friend Ben to Quivero (where the photo was taken) to get photos of the special, and she was the "advance party" of a cattle drive that was about to use those pens by the spur. We ALMOST got delayed by the cattle drive.

Thanks for the pictures, when you work the trip you don't have the time to enjoy it as much. I was the water boy for the trip to Williams to the Rim and back was my chance to ride. Nice to see Ervin from GCry in the picture of 4960

I remember the multiple attempts it toook for amtrak 66 to shove the trainset up the hill. It was rather amusing to watch. I also remember thinking that a big northner seemed out of place on the line until I was told that this class of engine used to be in regualr service on the line. wonderful trip, wished that had been able to run all the way to Phoneix.
