Steam & Excursion > New Hope & Ivyland - Steam Punk WeekendDate: 04/05/14 21:14 New Hope & Ivyland - Steam Punk Weekend Author: bigjim4life This weekend, the New Hope & Ivyland Railroad is hosting the first annual "Steam Punk Weekend" event. Included in the cost of a ticket this weekend, for $10 extra, is unlimited rides during the day, as well as a guided tour of the New Hope shop complex.
While I didn't make it up for as long as I would have liked, I was able to go on one of the shop tours, and see one of the two cabooses they are restoring to operation - including a former Lehigh & New England caboose that the railroad hopes to have out and running later this year. In the meantime, here's a shot of the 4 pm train passing both North and South Sugen Roads outside of the town. Enjoy! For as rough as the crossing looks, it seems the engine doesn't bounce around any more than it usually does going over the rest of the track. Great video Jim, nice seeing you on Saturday. Glad you came out and took that shop tour. You're right, it will be exciting when the caboose is finished. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 04/07/14 10:30 by PennRailVideos. Are there any plans to host more shop tours during the year? Or was this a one-weekend only special occasion? Jim Lipnitz Morrisville, PA Big Jim Video Productions |
