Steam & Excursion > William Kratville's Big BoyDate: 04/16/14 09:35 William Kratville's Big Boy Author: up3985 I am looking to acquire a copy of Kratville's Big Boy in addition to my copies of "The Challenger Locomotives" and "The Mighty 800"
I've looked on Google, but the only copy I've found is on amazon and it is described to be in less than desirable condition. Anyone know where I could find one in good condition? (Hardcover preferably) Date: 04/16/14 10:18 Re: William Kratville's Big Boy Author: HotWater Try Ron's Books, out of New York. If Ron doesn't have one "in stock" , he will put your name on his "list" and notify you when he gets one. He is absolutely the BEST railroad book dealer in the country for both new and old RR books.

(Hardcover preferably) You might also try Autoliner Books inc. That was Bill's publishing company and his daughter is still working it. Steve Date: 04/18/14 09:05 Re: William Kratville's Big Boy Author: contactpatch My first destination for any used book is "Abe Books" on the web. This is a book search service with affiliated sellers, not a direct seller, but I have had 100% satisfaction with every order.
Web site shows 3 used copies available. Date: 04/19/14 15:48 Re: William Kratville's Big Boy Author: filmteknik I have all three and Motive Power of the Union Pacific as well.
I don't suppose there is any book that goes into detail about the C-xx 2-8-0's such as Heber's or the one IRM has been working on for decades. I spent kindergarten at a place where one was a park engine so they've always been of personal interest. |
