Midland Terminal Live Steam - Colorado Springs 1975
Author: DRGWTennPass

These photos were taken in August of 1975 "At the base of Pikes Peak."

Does anyone recall or have any information on this Live Steam operation.

I was three at the time (that's me with the loco and in the third car with my Pop (who does not remember this.)

Any info is appreciated.

I can't help with the location. I love the Cagney 4-4-0.

Your right, Mike H. thinks it's changed hands several times, and is in Wellington, KS now highly rebuilt, numbered 1052.

I'm pretty sure this train was purchased from this location by Randy ??? in Wichita,Kansas about 10-15 years ago. He sold the train to the group that runs the 12" gauge trains in the park in Moberly, Mo. They kept it a while and then sold the engine and tender back to Randy. He sold them to retired Santa Fe engineer Jim Emerson in Wellington, Kansas. He has rebuilt it and still owns it but I don't think he has any cars or track. I can't remember what the sides of the cars said when Randy bought (something Colorado ??)it but the engine was numbered 52 and is 1052 today.
I'm not sure that is the real serial number since Carey Williams in Chicago and George Whitehead in California both also claim engine 1052.
