Steam & Excursion > A CVL 4070 MemoryDate: 04/21/14 19:57 A CVL 4070 Memory Author: refarkas Some memories are much better than others. Thankfully, while the memories grow dimmer, Kodachrome remembers.
Here is Cuyahoga Valley Line 4070 (ex-GTW 4070) steaming southbound through Brecksville, Ohio on October 17, 1981. The location where I was standing is now part of the CVSR parking lot for Brecksville's station. Thought I've read on and off that it was undergoing restoration to operation. /Mitch Date: 04/22/14 05:04 Re: A CVL 4070 Memory Author: Tominde Nice shot. Really looks good in black with the dark green matched coaches. Hope it rises again.

The Midwest Railway Preservation Society is currently restoring the locomotive with a completion date targeted for 2018, the 100th anniversary of the engine. Progress is being made, slow due to the dependence on volunteer help.

During this time we are doing some small projects to help us get ready for the move. If you are one of the many people out there that want to see a Frisco engine on the high iron, consider donating today. With out financial support the project wont get too far. All the boiler tubes have been removed as they prepare for an ultrasound. Bruce Bryan Greensburg, IN |
