One day before Los Angeles County Fair’s opening day, Los Angeles Public TV Station KCET, Channel 28, will rebroadcast a half hour tour of the locomotives at RailGiants Train Museum.

In July 2002, our past president Bob Kredel provided Huell Howser and Southern California TV viewers a tour of our trains, including Big Boy #4014 long before there was any expectation it would run again.

Channel 28 is available to many television views throughout Southern California. Check local cable listings.

Sadly, Huell passed away a few years ago. He hosted and produced hundreds of shows about California history for California’s public television stations. His archives were donated to Chapman University in Orange, California.

One of my personal steam train favorites is Huell’s 1994 tour of Southern Pacific’s Cuesta Grade north of San Luis Obispo, and cab ride inside S.P. steam locomotive #2472.
