Author: LoggerHogger The afternoonn sun is starting to set in Scramento, California in October 1958 as SP #4460 has arrived from Sparks, Nevada. She is pulling the final steam trip for SP standard gauge steam.
The passengers have left the train nfor the nearby dedication cermonies in front of the depot. SP has placed on display the C.P. Huntington and Cab-Forward #4294 and they are being dedicated while the train is service. Soon the passengers will board th train for the final trip to Oakland where she will arrive after dark. For those who don't already know, the 4460 is preserved at the Museum of Transportation in St. Louis.
